After my presentation, she told me that I was in great luck as this is a real job and it is called being a tour guide. I took the hint and got my tour guide license. I am still doing it and still love that I can entertain by sharing my knowledge while bringing people and cultures closer.

Now, with 18 years of experience, I feel lucky, because my profession is my real passion and hobby, too. Researching and learning about architecture, history, urban legends and fun facts is a never ending project for me as it makes me proud to show the beautiful sights of Hungary to our visitors. Cities are changing all the time, like a living organism, so I have a lifetime project to admire and study its beauty and to show curious visitors its secrets and magic. Just like Budapest, the Hungarian countryside is full of wonders, breathtaking views over vineyards by the lake Balaton or Tokaj, mystic forests of the Danube bend, hidden, reed roof villages, folkloric traditions, aristocratic palaces and mansions had been renovated in the recent past. And of course, for the real local experience, food, coffee and wine are the key to emerge in the local culture. We can talk about food with real passion and have serious culinary debats. I firmly believe that our environment shapes us and being raised in Budapest, I was surrounded as a child by all these legends, traditions, urban myths and beautiful architecture- at the time, when the socialist dictatorship was about to collapse, the city was in a pretty bad shape but I was raised to see the beauty in its shabby chic. By now the city has been renewed and it became the real, shiny pearl of the Danube. Budapest offers one of the most breathtaking views in the whole world and our culture and language is so unique, I am pleased to tell you all the fun facts and show you the hidden gems along with the historical major sights and the best views!

As a Pest born girl, living and working here all through my life Budapest is really my inner city. At the same time experiencing expat life in Prague during university studies, I managed to get the mood of another city and by travelling quite a lot abroad I find it important to broaden my horizon. My special field of interests are history, comparative history, architectual periods, Art Nouveau and Jewish heritage - with licence to the Dohany street synagogue. I'm a 3rd generation" Budapester" :) I have always loved spending a couple of hours on the Margaret Island or taking a nice walk up to one of our "hills". :) I finished the licensed guide course in 2008 and almost immediately I started working as a tour guide - in Turkey, where I spent 3 summer seasons. In the wintertime I traveled back to my beloved city, Budapest, and provided guided tours by bus. Almost 3 years ago I decided to fully dedicate my life to guiding. I'm a tour guide and a Spanish teacher, and the two professions are not even that different. I'm in my element in forests, markets, libraries, or on a bicycle - and all this can be part of a tour!
